Cleveland Golf boss Hopkins suddenly resigns

Greg Hopkins, the long-time chief executive officer of Cleveland Golf/Srixon, has abruptly resigned from the company. Hopkins resignation is effective immediately. No successor has yet been named.  Hopkins gave no specific reason for his surprise resignation.

“I’ve been with Cleveland for sixteen years and have seen tremendous growth for the company during that time,” Hopkins said in a statement. “Now I’m at a point in my life where I want to do some things and explore some ideas that I’ve always wanted to pursue.”

Hopkins helped establish the Cleveland brand beyond its core wedge business, particularly with irons and beginning in 2005 with the Srixon brand of golf balls.
