Jaypee Greens, Noida, India

There is plenty of bright white sand at the Greg Norman-designed Jaypee Greens course outside of Delhi.

Jaypee Greens is busy prosperous high-end private club built around several towering housing complexes.  It’s cut-and-fill shaping and manufactured mounding by the Greg Norman organization is very reminiscent of South Florida golf courses while the surrounding look reminded me of the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai.

Lots of water, bright deep flashed bunkering, and tropical landscaping pretty much sum up the look and challenge of the flat terrain of Jaypee.  The conditioning is generally excellent and this is a full championship layout that is capable of hosting any sort of competition.  The deep lipped fairway bunkers are especially punishing.  One of the best features is that this is both a very engaging as well as a very playable golf course provided you choose the correct tees for your ability.

Fagan Rating:  B. This is a rather outstanding layout and a very popular spot for Delhi golfers, but breaks no new ground as far as world-traveled golfers are concerned.  That said, Jaypee Greens would be one of the must-play golf courses when visiting the Delhi region.

The 14th and 17th greens combine for a double-green.  Picture is taken from the 14th area looking back down the 17th hole.
