Product Review: Sock It To Me – Swiftwick Socks

About the last thing I expected to become excited about during my annual visit to the PGA Merchandise Show was socks, but here I am anxious to tell you why.

Once I leave a short sit-down cup of orange juice in the Media Room, I am continuously on my feet with no relief for four days running including the Demo Day.  It’s a virtual marathon of standing and walking.  Previously my feet and legs would be weary and sore after 9 hours of this, four days in a row.

As I have mentioned in other articles, I finally found the perfect shoes to handle this stress and thought things couldn’t be any better.  Wrong.  That was until I happened to discover the Swiftwick compression socks.  Unbelievably this 61-year old dude was  bouncing around the aisles of the Orange County Convention Center with energy and comfort.  The Swiftwick Socks,  my new found discovery, took my foot and leg comfort to another level.

Swiftwick socks only appeared in the golf market about a year and a half ago, but they are a proven tool to runners and cyclers.  Golfers make their livings on their feet too, so why not include them as well?  Now more than thirty PGA Tour players as well as their caddies live in Swiftwicks.

The Swiftwick story is an interesting American one as well.  Swiftwicks are headquartered and manufactured in Tennessee.  The socks are made without any moisture-wicking chemicals.  Instead they feature a fiber called olefin, which includes breathability.  Their sculpted footbed built to the highest standards helps prevent blisters, and the wicking action of the sock absorbs moisture allowing for your foot and shoes to remain relatively dry.

The folks at Swiftwick are so certain of their socks that they offer you a fantastic guarantee.  If the Swiftwick socks are not the best you have ever worn, simply mail the laundered socks back to them for a black or white model or comparable value -even a competitor’s (subject to availability).

The only problem that I now face is that after wearing Swiftwicks, my entire sock collection has been obsoleted – dress and athletic socks alike.  You see, Swiftwick makes socks for every sport as well as everyday wear.

Check them out at www.swiftwick.com.  If I were in your shoes, I’d choose Swiftwick Socks!
