Machrihanish Dunes Gets International Pairs Club Event

The International Pairs Club Event, touted as the largest club event of its kind in the world, selected Marchrihanish Dunes Golf Club as the site of its 2013 tournament.

According to the Buteman.co.uk website, local politicians are revelling in the news. The past three event were held at The Carrick Golf Course in Loch Lomond, Scotland.

Council leader Roddy McCuish said, “This event is huge and the world final attracts golfers and their followers from thirty countries.

“It is a marvellous coup for Kintyre and the impact will spread throughout Argyll and Bute as word is taken to the world of what this unique area has to offer.”

Councillor McCuish with fellow Councillors Dougie Philand and Donald Kelly worked together to attract the event to Machrihanish.

According to the website, “a conversation with event organisers Golf Frontiers revealed they were looking for an alternative venue in Scotland.”
