LANSING, MI – Syndicated radio and television host, Michael Patrick Shiels, who publishes the website www.TravelTattler.com for The A Position, will host a colorful version of his St. Patrick’s Day morning show live from Doonbeg, County Clare, Ireland on March 17. The program will air from 5:30 – 9:00 am on 13 radio stations, including WJRW 1340 in Grand Rapids and WJIM AM 1240 in Lansing and streaming audio with subsequent podcasts at www.TravelTattler.com
“Americans adore the charm and hospitality of the Irish, but in these challenging economic times, we can learn from their pragmatism and sprit, too,” said Shiels.
Shiels will interview Irish business leaders, celebrities, politicians, priests and publicans, chefs, and genealogist at the Lodge at Doonbeg Golf Club, which will host the broadcast.
“Michigan’s link to Ireland is undeniable. Four of counties are named after those in the Emerald Isle: Clare, Wexford, Antrim, and Roscommon; and we have the Irish Hills and Corktown areas, too,” Shiels points out. “Our St. Patrick’s Day show will leave people with a sense of the soul of the Irish, a smile on their face, and a thirst for a pint of Guinness!”
Shiels, 43, is also an author and travel writer of Irish descent who has written frequently about Ireland, including passages in his latest book “Invite Yourself to the Party.” Tourism Ireland’s Ruth Moran is quoted on the back cover: “Michael Patrick, you continue to be an amazing ambassador to Ireland.”
The show, sponsored by The Resorts of Tullymore and St. Ives, will be simulcast on Fox 47 TV in Lansing as it is every morning; the audio can be streamed live or via podcast or YouTube at www.MichiganTalkNetwork.com.
