John Muir, the eminent naturalist and conservationist who founded The Sierra Club and is considered the father of America’s National Parks, was born in Dunbar in 1838. To celebrate the dodransbicentennial (175th anniversary) of his birth, Dunbar Golf Club is offering in 2013 a specially engraved whisky glass to any American visitor who is able to match or better his own handicap on the golf course. Further incentive, if you need any, to put Dunbar on your itinerary. And if you’re visiting in 2014 or beyond, ask them about it anyway – they just might have a few left over.
