European Touring Pro John Parry, on the Killarney Golf and Fishing Club and My Chances at the Irish Open

Tough day in the pro-am this morning as the course set up long and wet– starting on number eleven our first three holes were par fours of nearly 500 yards.  I don’t like to go that far on vacation!  The Killarney Golf and Fishing Club’s Killeen Course should prove equally challenging to the list of top European pros gathered for the event, even if they’re not forced to play with me.  Here’s a quick clip of the charming John Parry, who soldiered on through 18 holes with a couple of journalists and never once lost his breakfast.

Hey, Jeff–these video clips are really fun. Sounds as if the Warriors are well into the Irish golf scene. The Irish Open should be awesome. As John Clarkin notes, it’s not often an event with no sponsor and a total purse of 1.5M euros (250K to the winner) would draw four major champions. It’s great to see the loyalty of the great Irish professionals to the country that bred and nurtured them. We wear our loyalty on our sleeves, I am afraid, and not in our pocketbooks.
